AWRF Talks with Industrial Magnetics at AWRF P.I.E. 2013

AWRF-VIDEO-SERIES

In our sixth segment of the AWRF new product and technology video series recorded in Ft. Worth TX, we spoke with Peter Friedrich of Industrial Magnetics ( www.Magnetics.com ). Peter told us about their new remote operated dynamic lift magnet. It is a permanent magnet that is activated by an on/off remote control from up to thirty feet away. What makes this lift magnet different is it has an electric actuator in place of a manual actuator. Instead of manually pulling the handle out and rotating it to the on/off position, you just push a button. That’s pretty easy.

One dynamic lift magnet has 600 pounds of lifting capacity and several built in safety features to prevent accidents. Peter demonstrated the load sensor and on/off button sequence safety features. The load sensor is on the lift lug and has to be at rest for the remote to work. The three button sequence on the remote must be used to turn the dynamic lift magnet on and off.

Several dynamic lift magnets can be used together at one time by programing them all to one remote control. Peter explains that several dynamic lift magnets can be used together on a spreader bar, or with a crane on a cutting table or even on a forklift driving steel around. This product is very versatile and easy to use.

Nice job Peter, thanks for being part of our new product and technology video series.
